MEET THE CHEF
A native of Rockland County, NY, Jerry Coyne found his calling to the culinary world early on. He graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. He then went on to open J.C.’s Lake Deli in Valley Cottage, with his Dad. After owning the deli for a few years, Jerry decided he wanted to open up a gourmet restaurant in Orange County, NY. He successfully owned Sweet Basil Restaurant in Harriman, NY for about 14 years. After his Dad passed away, he knew he needed a break, so he decided to sell the restaurant and work for a catering company in NJ. While he loved the catering industry, he knew he always wanted to own his own business again. He started thinking about how the world is evolving and changing rapidly. Everyone loves delicious, fresh, restaurant style food but may not always have time to sit at a restaurant for a few hours. He knew he could bring the best of both worlds - restaurant quality food but take out style! That is when he decided to open up J&J Kitchen! He loves being apart of the New City community and looks forward to an amazing future in this town!
